Soft, warm, stylish, local

I love this hat and get many compliments. I’m from SE Mass and live in Cape Cod now, so knowing it’s locally made is terrific.

I went on a quest for a new winter cap, and this is the leader of the pack!

I have a couple of acrylic beanies kicking around, but I really wanted a hat or cap for winter that I knew was made by people being paid a decent wage. So I started researching American-made winter hats, with an eye on manufacturers local to New England in particular. There are several folks making good products out there, but for my budget, there were three I had my eye on--a government-issue wool beanie, another US-made wool beanie from a popular nationally-known brand, and this cotton watch cap. To be honest, I was skeptical that a knit cotton cap would feel anywhere near as substantial as the wool and wool-blends and figured it would be closer to the acrylic cheapies I already had. Absolutely not. This thing is hefty, but comfortably flexible, stays on my head, but doesn't have a vice grip on it (by comparison, reviewers have posted pictures of lines imprinted on their forehead from the other brand I tried, and one of the pricier acrylic caps I got last year just rode my hair up my big head until I had a reservoir tip or it completely popped off--I gave it away). The kings watch cap covers my ears if I pull it down, but can be pulled up a bit with more material cuffed for milder days where you're going more for fashion than function. It feels warm enough that it'll be useful through winter, the price is great, the tag design is cool, and it was made like 30 minutes from my house. I'm super happy with my purchase!
